National Childhood Network have an upcoming Healthy Ireland Smart Start Programme organised for Swords. They will circulate an email invitation to childcare providers in a few weeks.
The programme will be delivered one evening per week over 7 weeks in The Riasc Centre, Feltrim Road, Swords commencing Tuesday 9th October 2018, 6.45pm – 9.30pm.
Programme Dates: Tuesday 9th , 16th, 23rd October, 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th November 2018
The Healthy Ireland Smart Start Programme provides valuable training on: Developing a Health Promoting Pre-school setting; Providing Physical Activities; Nutrition and Healthy Eating; Oral Health; Promoting Children’s Emotional Well-being /Literacy; Health and Safety; Preparing for Validation to achieve the Healthy Ireland Award. All aspects of the programme support services to achieve many of the Síolta standards and meet the acquirements of Aistear.
Valuable resources, funded by the HSE, to inform all aspects of the programme will be available for participating services to use with children, parents/families. To assist participating services promote children’s emotional health and well-being, each service will receive three sets of the Trace Moroney feelings books which will be shared with all families throughout the pre-school year. These will be accompanied by a music CD and other supportive resources. Programme costs €40 per Service which allows 2 members of staff to attend.
